27 NAKSHATRAS

In Vedic astrology, there are 27 nakshatras, also known as lunar mansions or lunar asterisms. These nakshatras are divisions along the ecliptic, each spanning 13 degrees and 20 minutes. Here is a list of the 27 nakshatras along with their ruling deities:

1. Ashwini-Ruled by Ashvini Kumaras, the divine horse-headed twins.

2. Bharani-Ruled by Yama, the god of death and justice.

3. Krittika-Ruled by Agni, the fire god.

4. Rohini-Ruled by Brahms, the creator god. 

5. Mrigashirsha (Mrigasira)-Ruled by Chandra, the moon god.

6. Ardra-Ruled by Rudra, a form of Lord Shiva associated with storms and destruction.

7. Punarvasu-Ruled by Aditi, the mother of all gods.

8. Pushya-Ruled by Brihaspati, the planet Jupiter and the guru of the gods.

9. Ashlesha-Ruled by Sarpa, the serpent deity. 

10. Magha-Ruled by Pitria, the ancestral spirits.

11. Purva Phalguni-Ruled by Bhaga, the god of marital bliss and prosperity.

12. Uttara Phalguni-Ruled by Aryaman, the god of contracts and unions.

13. Hasta-Ruled by Savitar, the sun god associated with creativity and craftsmanship.

14. Chitra-Ruled by Vishvakarma, the celestial architect. 

15. Swati-Ruled by Vayu, the wind god.

16. Vishakha-Ruled by Indra and Agni, the gods of power and transformation. 17. Anuradha-Ruled by Mitra, the god of friendship and cooperation.

18. Jyeshtha-Ruled by Indra, the king of gods and rain.

19. Mula-Ruled by Nirriti, the goddess of destruction and dissolution.

20. Purva Ashadha-Ruled by Apah, the god of water.

21. Uttara Ashadha-Ruled by Vishvedeva, the universal gods. 22. Shravana-Ruled by Vishnu, the preserver god.

23. Dhanishta (Shatabhisha)-Ruled by Vasus, the group of eight gods associated with wealth and abundance.

24. Shatabhisha (Dhanishta)-Ruled by Varuna, the god of cosmic order and water.

25. Purva Bhadrapeds-Ruled by Aja Ekapada, a form of Lord Shiva associated with asceticism. 26. Uttara Bhadrapada-Ruled by Ahir Budhnys, the serpent of the deep.

27. Revati-Ruled by Pushan, the protector of travelers and herds.

Each nakshatra has its own unique qualities, symbolism, and influence on an individuala personality and life events. Understanding the nakshatras can provide deeper insights into various aspects of astrology, including birth charta, compatibility, and timing of events.
